Paracord knife: the cord-wrapped blade from Operation Shattered Web
The Paracord knife is a fixed-blade utility knife with its handle wound in survival cord, and it reached Counter-Strike in the Operation Shattered Web update together with the Survival Knife, the Skeleton Knife and the Nomad Knife. It belongs to the gold star tier, the rare special items that sit above Covert, the slot every model in the CS2 knives catalogue occupies. On screen it is one of the plainer silhouettes, closer to the straight-bladed Ursus Knife than to anything that folds or flips, so the paint carries the look rather than the shape. The name comes from that wrap, and in the game files the model is simply the cord knife, which is how it is filed in the catalogue as well. The draw animation tosses it from one hand to the other, and the inspect spins it in the fingers.
The finish pools behind the Paracord knife in CS2 line-up
Which paints this model can wear depends on the case it dropped from, and the finishes fall into separate groups rather than one running list.
- The classic set, the same paints the oldest knives in the game carry: Case Hardened, Fade, Crimson Web, Slaughter, Blue Steel, Stained, Scorched, Night Stripe, Urban Masked, Forest DDPAT, Safari Mesh, Boreal Forest, and the unpainted Vanilla version.
- The Chroma set, added long after the model itself: Doppler, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth, Damascus Steel, Ultraviolet and Rust Coat.
The Gamma group is the one that never reached this knife. Gamma Doppler, Lore, Autotronic, Black Laminate, Bright Water and Freehand stay with the models that came out of the Gamma cases, among them the Bayonet, the Flip Knife, the Gut Knife and the Bowie Knife. If you want the classic camouflages on another straight blade, the Classic Knife works from the same old list, and so does the Kukri Knife.
Doppler phases and the finishes where the seed decides
Doppler is the only finish on this model that splits into phases: Phase 1 through Phase 4, plus Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl. Emerald is not among them. That gem belongs to Gamma Doppler, and since the Gamma set never reached this knife, a Paracord Emerald does not exist at all. On the models that have carried Doppler since the Chroma cases, such as the Karambit, the M9 Bayonet and the Butterfly Knife, the gem phases trade in a class of their own, and this knife follows the same order.
Several other finishes are decided by the pattern seed rather than by the paint itself. Case Hardened puts the blue in a different place on every roll, Fade varies in how much of the blade the gradient covers, Marble Fade shifts the balance between its colours, and Crimson Web is read by how many webs sit on the flat and how close to the centre they land. The Pattern and Fade filters above sort the grid by exactly those values. Tier lists for the good seeds are community work rather than Valve data, so a seller quoting one is quoting an opinion.
Exterior, float and StatTrak
Float and exterior exist on every painted version, but the ranges differ from finish to finish. Fade, Marble Fade, Tiger Tooth and Doppler are capped near the clean end, so they turn up only in the top exteriors. Rust Coat starts deep in the other half and never appears Factory New. Case Hardened and Crimson Web run the full width, which is why the worn end of the grid is mostly those two. Wear shows first on the blade edge and the exposed pommel, since the wrap covers very little of the metal. StatTrak exists for the painted finishes and for the plain version as well, and it is a separate item with its own listings.
How to get a Paracord Knife in CS2
The Paracord Knife CS:GO players unboxed in Operation Shattered Web carried into CS2 unchanged, and the model is fed by the Shattered Web Case, the Fracture Case and the Fever Case. The first two hold the classic set; the last is the one that brought the Chroma finishes to these knives. The case an unboxing came from therefore decides which group can roll, and all of them sit in the cases catalogue.
The trade-up contract is the other route into the model. A contract fed with Covert skins from one of those cases returns a rare special item out of that case's gold pool, which here means one of the Shattered Web knives with a random finish, and a contract built from StatTrak Coverts returns a StatTrak knife. Because the whole release shares that pool, the contract picks the knife, not you. Buying from the grid above is the route where the finish, the phase and the float are your choice.
Buying and selling on white.market

- Install the browser extension and top up your balance.
- Cut the listings above down with the Exterior, StatTrak, Phase and Float filters, then sort by price.
- Check the float, the phase and the pattern on the listing itself before you commit, because two knives with the same name are not the same item.
- To sell, list your own knife at your own price, or look through the bargain deals to see where sellers and buyers are meeting.
FAQ
What does Not Painted mean on a listing?
It is the Vanilla knife, the model with no finish applied. It has no float value and no exterior, so the listing reads Not Painted instead of Factory New or Field-Tested, and it trades as an item of its own.
Does the knife change anything in a round?
No. Damage, reach and movement speed are the same as on the default knife every player already carries. The model is cosmetic from end to end.
Is StatTrak a different item from the normal version?
Yes. It is a separate entry with its own listings and its own kill counter, which begins empty when the knife is unboxed. StatTrak cannot be added to a knife afterwards or taken off one.
Is buying a knife on a P2P marketplace safe?
Yes, as long as the deal runs through the platform rather than a private trade offer. You sign in with Steam, connect a trade link and the extension, and the knife moves from the seller's inventory to yours as a tracked trade.
