WhiteBIT Team Enters CS2 scene: W Group Launches New Counter-Strike 2 Roster

W Group, the global fintech ecosystem behind the WhiteBIT crypto exchange, has officially entered competitive Counter-Strike 2 with the launch of WhiteBIT Team (WBT). The move expands the company's footprint in esports and builds directly on the CS2 community work already done by its P2P skin-trading platform, white.market.

From Skin Trading to a Full CS2 Roster

white.market has spent years operating inside the Counter-Strike ecosystem as a P2P marketplace for CS2 and CS skins, working alongside names like FACEIT, NAVI, and Maincast. WhiteBIT Team is the next step in that trajectory — a shift from building products for the CS2 community to building a competitive organization within it.

Volodymyr Nosov, Founder and President of W Group and WhiteBIT, framed the launch as a natural evolution rather than a departure:

“white.market has long been part of the Counter-Strike ecosystem. We have been following how the audience is evolving, how the industry is changing, and how much potential esports has. That is why the launch of WhiteBIT Team is a natural and logical step for W Group. We aim to build a strong esports infrastructure with a talent development system and new opportunities for the community.”

Competitive Results Before the Official Launch

WhiteBIT Team didn't wait for a launch date to start winning. Before WBT was even formally announced, the roster had already:

  • Won the second stage of the 2026 Ukrainian Esports Championship, run by the Ukrainian Esports Federation (UESF)

  • Placed 3rd–4th at the ESEA League Season 57 Europe Finals

  • Qualified for the European Pro League Series 8

That combination of a national title and international qualification signals a roster built to compete on more than one front from day one.

Backed by W Group's Sports Partnership Experience

WhiteBIT Team isn't being built in isolation. It sits inside the wider W Group ecosystem, which already runs sponsorship partnerships with FC Barcelona and Juventus FC through WhiteBIT, the largest European crypto exchange by traffic. That background in traditional sports partnerships — plus WhiteBIT's role as global ambassador partner for tennis player Elina Svitolina and its ties to the Ukraine National Football Team — gives W Group a template for community-building that it's now applying to esports.

What's Next: The Road to a CS2 Major

WhiteBIT Team's stated ambition is to qualify for a Counter-Strike Major and establish itself among the world's top professional CS2 organizations. To get there, the plan is to invest across coaching, infrastructure, analytics, and player development, alongside sustained work with the fan community.

Oleksandr Shapoval, CEO of WhiteBIT Team and white.market, described the vision for the organization beyond the scoreboard:

“We want to build a modern esports club with a strong sporting foundation and a close connection with fans. It is important for us that the team is not only about results, but also about the community around it. That is why we plan to develop new formats of interaction with the audience — through content, digital products, and experiences that bring fans closer to the team.”

Why This Matters for CS2 Esports

WhiteBIT Team's entry adds another fintech-backed organization to the Counter-Strike 2 scene — one arriving with an early Ukrainian title, an ESEA Finals result, and a European Pro League Series 8 qualification already banked before its first official match under the new name. Combined with W Group's existing sports-sponsorship infrastructure and white.market's long-standing footprint in the CS2 skin economy, WBT looks positioned to move quickly from a promising newcomer to a fixture on the international CS2 circuit.
